… have almost passed. Since my last entry, I’ve explored a few more corners of the city. But I still haven’t made it to the Hagia Sophia or the Blue Mosque. There’s just so much to see!
Also, my second roommate is back home now… He loves photography, cooking, and eating—and, most importantly, he has a lot of free time. Perfect! :-) Every morning, we now enjoy a long, traditional Turkish breakfast on the balcony, and I get plenty of opportunities to work on my (nonexistent) Turkish. I have to say, I really lucked out with my flatmates! My two guys and their friends take me everywhere and usually even pay for me (which is starting to feel a bit awkward, to be honest)… I barely have any contact with women anymore. :D
Except, of course, at the legendary Erasmus parties! Anyone who knows me knows that there are plenty of things I’d rather do than go to a party. But right now, the Anti-Party Inc. is on vacation, so I’m making an effort to meet people from other countries. After all, my university has 150 exchange students! There haven’t been that many parties yet, but the Facebook Istanbul Erasmus Party People group has only just been created. Let’s see where this is going. :D :D
After all, I’m here to study—not to have fun! But somehow, no one believes me anymore after seeing my class schedule.
So, what do you think?
Honestly, I can’t wait for university to finally start on Monday! :D
