On Friday, I met the supervisor of my internship. He greeted me with, "Do you know who I am?" (Uh... No...) and said goodbye with, "Google me before you come back!" In between, the conversation was mainly about me coming up with a project in the field of "Green Chemistry," carrying it out, and writing a publication about it — in five weeks. Sure, no problem! :D Since then, I just can’t take the guy seriously, no matter how many books he’s published.
In the evening, I encountered Problem #1. We wanted to go into the city, but since the campus is so far out, no taxi wanted to pick us up. After about an hour, someone was finally kind enough to take us, and we went to eat. Unfortunately, it wasn’t Indian food, but pseudo-Italian :-/ all-you-can-eat for €2.50 :D But the only ones who seemed to enjoy it were the Indians. The rest of us interns (Aymen from Tunisia, Chawal and Guy from Thailand, Eray from Turkey, and Mohammed from Oman) would’ve preferred a nice curry. We had similar experiences the next evening at a BBQ and on Sunday at Subway :-| I can already say, though, that we’ve learned to stand up for ourselves a bit better by now :-) Problem #2 awaited us after the return. The Girls' Dorm was locked :D After some searching, we finally found a security guy who unlocked the door, and I had to learn that for the girls, curfew is at nine p.m. The "Mother Superior" ("The Dragon") was kind enough to extend my curfew to nine-thirty :-| oh dear...
On Sunday, we went on a little sightseeing tour! And that’s when I finally got the chance to take some real photos :)
