After leaving my settled life behind, I decided to go with the flow for a while. That flow first carried me over the alps then further and further south through Europe, chasing summer with my paraglider.

By November, I had reached the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula — but even there, the cold had caught up with me. A decision had to be made: return to lockdown-bound Germany for Christmas (this was 2021), or take another leap… onto the Atlantic Ocean?

And that's how I became a sailor.
